Born in Sendai and raised in Tokyo, Shiori Kanno graduated from the University of Tokyo Law School and served as a public prosecutor for several years. From 2009 to 2019, she was elected to the House of Representatives and worked on constitutional, diplomatic, and human rights issues during her term of office.
She is currently a lawyer, president of the International Humanitarian Platform and editor of The Tokyo Post. She is an advisor to the non-governmental organization, the “Parliamentary Association For Human Rights Diplomacy” and the Japan Coordinator of the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC).
Shiori Kanno works with LPA Tokyo on issues related to cooperation and negotiation with government bodies.
